Cryptography

Cryptography is a way of protecting information and communication by using algorithms so only authorised people can read it. A normal readable message is turned into unreadable ciphertext, and the intended receiver uses a key to change it back into plaintext.

It is like locking a message in a secret code. Only the person with the right key can unlock it and read the real words.
