Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty (ABSD)
DEFINITION
Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty, or ABSD, applies to Singaporeans buying a second or later residential property, as well as to permanent residents and foreigners buying residential property. Most first-time BTO buyers will not need to pay ABSD, but buyers who plan to keep a private property while purchasing a BTO should pay close attention to this tax.
