Pre-existing Health Conditions

DEFINITION

Pre-existing health conditions are illnesses, injuries, or medical conditions that a person already had before getting health or life insurance cover. Because of these known conditions, insurers may charge higher premiums or refuse coverage, especially when the conditions are long-term or chronic.
