Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)

DEFINITION

A Lasting Power of Attorney, or LPA, is a legal document that lets a person called the donor appoint one or more people to make decisions for them if they become mentally incapable of deciding for themselves. It helps ensure the donor's affairs are handled according to their wishes.
