Investment-linked Life Insurance

DEFINITION

Investment-linked life insurance combines life insurance cover with an investment component. Part of the premium pays for insurance protection, while the rest is invested in selected funds chosen by the policyholder based on risk tolerance and goals. The policy value depends on how those funds perform, so it can rise or fall with market conditions. This product offers investment growth potential but also carries investment risk.

ELI5

It is like splitting your payment into two parts: one part buys insurance and the other part is invested. Your plan can grow, but it can also go down if the market falls.
