BTO (Build-To-Order)

DEFINITION

BTO, or Build-To-Order, refers to new HDB flats launched in selected locations and built only after enough buyers commit to them. Construction usually takes about three to five years from the time of launch.

It is like HDB opening a new flat project and starting the build only after enough people say they want to buy. Then buyers wait a few years for it to be ready.
